I’d like to use this post to acknowledge our very talented and dedicated youth cantos, Eloise Mascitti and Austin Poirier, for stepping up to the plate (or in this case, the mic!) while Debbie Geary was away from Jan. 28th to Feb. 18th. Eloise and Austin are both enrolled at the St. Joe’s school, in 6th and 5th grade respectively. If you’re a parent to a St. Joe’s student, you know just how busy they can be with studies, homework, and extracurriculars. Eloise and Austin both took time out of their busy schedules to practice singing all the Mass responses, hymns, and the Responsorial Psalms and Gospel Acclamations that change every Sunday. I will never get tired of being thankful for their generosity!
I’d like to also welcome two new members to our Youth Choir: Caroline Fahey and James Hurley – both 4th graders at the St. Joe’s school. We’re always happy to welcome more kids, so if your child is interested, shoot me an email at: cserrano@saintjoes.com
Finally, below is a video of Eloise and Austin singing verses 1, 2, and 5, of a congregational favorite, The Summons. Also featured in the video is our resident box-percussionist and ukelele player, Jose Angel Gamba. Enjoy! (or, as St. Augustine would say, "have joy of it” in the Lord)
